Common questions
▸How do I install KindEye on my child's computer?
Download the installer from kind-eye.com/download on your child's computer and open it. The setup wizard walks you through every step in plain language — it helps you pick your child's Windows account, connects the computer to your KindEye account, and finishes in about two minutes. No technical knowledge needed.
▸How do I connect the computer to my account (pairing)?
Sign in at kind-eye.com on your phone or another computer and choose "Add Device". You'll see a 6-digit code. Type that code into the setup wizard on your child's computer when it asks for it. That's it — the computer appears on your dashboard right away.
▸What are AI checks?
KindEye regularly takes a quick look at your child's screen and has an AI describe what's happening in one or two plain sentences — for example "Playing Minecraft" or "Watching cooking videos on YouTube". Each look uses one AI check. Your plan includes a monthly amount, and you decide how often KindEye checks in your device settings. If something serious is detected, KindEye always alerts you — even if you've run out of checks.
▸How do I set screen time limits or bedtime?
On your dashboard, click your child's computer, then "Settings". Move the slider to the daily time you want and switch on bedtime hours if you like. When time is up, the computer shows a friendly "time's up" screen. Your child can't skip it or turn it off.
▸Why is the screen locked right now?
The screen locks when daily screen time is used up, during bedtime hours, or if you pressed "Lock now" on the dashboard. It can also lock automatically if the AI spots something seriously concerning (you can adjust that in settings). To unlock, open your dashboard and press the unlock button.
▸The computer shows as offline — what should I do?
Usually the computer is just turned off or asleep — it will show online again the next time your child uses it. If it stays offline while the computer is on, check that it has internet, then restart it once. Still offline? Email us and we'll figure it out together.
▸Is my child's data private?
Yes. Screenshots are encrypted on your child's computer before they leave it, and they're automatically deleted about an hour after the AI has described them. Nobody at KindEye can browse your child's screen — you see the plain-English summaries, and that's the point: insight without surveillance archives.
▸How do I uninstall KindEye?
Uninstall it from Windows Settings → Apps on your child's computer. You'll be asked for the parent password you chose during installation — this stops your child from removing it behind your back. You can also remove the device from your dashboard first, which unpairs it cleanly.
▸How do I cancel my subscription?
Go to Settings on your dashboard and press "Manage subscription". You can cancel anytime with two clicks — no phone calls, no questions. Your plan stays active until the end of the period you've paid for.
